I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review This books is full of emotions, happiness, sadness, anger, disgusted, fear, and more happiness.  Claire thought because she grew up poor, that money was the answer to happiness. It turns out it's not. After she sees first hand, no pun intended, when Brent punches her in the face when he's drunk and angry, she begins to understand that this is not the life she was hoping for. Of course Brent says I'm sorry it will never happen again and the. Here comes the gifts of jewelry and flowers, just as her friend Greta had told her how it was for her.  After several more times of this, Claire finally gets the courage to run. But Brent finds her, but thankfully the friends that have turned into her family stand by her side while she courageously stands up to Brent for the last time, all the while her new "hero" and love stands by her side, Zeke . With a newfound self and love, Claire allows herself to fall in love with Zeke, to trust him that he isn't like Brent.  And he loves her too.  I love the ending. Something kinda quirky, but totally them.
